I was ecstatic when I heard LogicNinja was coming to MacProVideo! He fits right in with all the top notch instructors here.. Good gig MacPro!!!
Now I know how to create takes without cluttering up my workspace. Very handy. Thank you. Folders are a great tool for keeping large orchestral arrangements and mixes neat and organized.
Amazing tutorial... Thanks!
Awesome! it will definitely change my workflow!!!
SFLogicNinja, real Logic hooded hyperninja, on top of being an Earl of Logic pacing the intergalactic realm in quantumcybercruiser, making giant leap for musiciankind.
After watching 'Producing with folders' I reorganised all my big projects the way David explained so very clearly. What a relief. I also will use the folder strategy when I start recording the vocals. I feel organised and in control.
I've been following SFLogicNinja's stuff for a couple of years now on Youtube and have always found any of his tutorials to be exceptionally clear, informative, and delivered with an enjoyably casual yet clearly incredibly knowledgeable air. This tutorial is no exception, and will likely cause me to completely re-think (in particular) how I've organized my large orchestral template, using Folders. My only suggestion to David Earl: do more tutorials on MacProVideo! :-)
The guy knows his stuff. I've heard some of his other tips on YouTube as SFLogicNinja. He has a coaxing manner which I like. I would rather go through one fully structured video like this than piece together the info from random clips. Rating is 4 because I never give 5 to anything.
Fantastic... a great Logic tutorial!
Absolutely useful tutorial! I changed my workflow with ease. It's now a naturally approach to work with folders. Well done! And many thanks to Dave for the good explanation!
Absolutely brilliant. Lays out a complex area with clarity and in a great relaxed, but detailed, way. My only criticism is that most of the demonstration recording tracks were empty - it would have been nice to hear the audio elements as they fit together. Still, this is a powerful and deep set of techniques and will definitely improve my workflow and understanding of Logic.
No surprise to see David here at Mac Pro.I was wondering when he was going to be noticed.I have been following David on You Tube for a couple of years.I purchased this tutorial without looking at it,that's how much confidence I have in David.Keep them coming. Bryan McClain
As usual, useful tutorial for Logic. My only comment is, as the author said, some techniques not quite right for MIDI files or apparently don't work with them, and I mostly use MIDI, but I would think a work around would be to bounce MIDI tracks down to audio tracks, or freeze them if that works, though i've not tried either approach yet. Only give it 4 stars because of above comment, but tutorial is good on the subject.
Very, very useful. I loved it! Thanks David!
Producing With Folders /David Earl Sometimes the practical things we benefit from learning are so dry & dull it's a tough road to travel ! David has done a fine job of both informing me and keeping me awake with this less then glamorous subject matter ! Great Job Mr Earl !
The sflogicninja videos on youtube have been VERY informative over the last few years so i didn't need much persuasion to purchase this tutorial. I found it easy to follow and these techniques will help me to work in a much more organised way. More please and thanks very much.
Hi I got into folders in Notator Logic years ago but they kind of got forgotten about but tutorial has well gotten me back into it Thanks folks
An amazing tutorial into the depth of producing with folders. Learned a lot of nice steps in regards to the streamlining of one's workflow. Did feel, however, that it could have been about half the length. A bit too much time watching Earl edit, copy and paste. Didn't feel that footage needed to be a part of this tutorial. Still great though! Learned a lot from watching his technique! And a very well spoken instructor.
This is one of those tutorials where you watch the whole thing end to end, then totally restructure your workflow for the rest of time while repeating "why did I never learn to do this before??!!" Thanks David Earl you are a ninja indeed
Very helpful tutorial about using folders in Logic. This topic has always been a closed book for me but now i will use folders much more. Thanks s lot.
This is so very, very good! Highly recomended !
Great Vid from Mr Earl. Very comprehensive explanations of folder use for arranging and mixing. Look forward to seeing more Vids from Sf Logicninja.
It's great to see SFLogicNinja on MPV! Your tutorial is really interesting. A must-show for anyone doing large session!
Glad to see SFLogic ninja on here finally. Your youtube videos helped a ton when I was first starting out. Can't believe it took this long before you're doing a tutorial for MPV. Good work, once again.
